The St. Albert Botanic Park is about more than flowers, trees , grass and vegetables. It is a place where visitors and volunteers can enhance mind, body and spirit through sharing, learning and 'growing'. Together the volunteers at the park are creating a place where you can learn about gardening, participate in creating the park, smell the roses, lilacs and other trees and plants or just sit quietly and enjoy the moment. The parish supports the Oblate mission in Guatemala through several initiatives. An HIV orphanage has been assisted to aid the children with medical costs, the funds to build additional classrooms in the orphanage school, youth visitation to spend time with the children and a backpack project to provide the students with supplies and clothing. Also our parish this year hopes to assist the Friends of the St. Albert Housing Society through our participation in the walk.

St. Albert Victim Services is a police based organization made up in part of trained volunteers who work in conjunction with RCMP Officers. These volunteers are called victim advocates who are accredited and skilled in dealing with matters of victimization. Under the guidance and direction of the police, we provide immediate crisis intervention, emotional support, court support, information and referral services to help the victom deal with the impact of a tramatic experience. If you are a victim, we can help you and your family cope with these feelings and the impact of the crime or tragedy. Our services are free, confidential and we are available through the RCMP 24 hours a day for crisis response.

Sustainable safe and affordable housing is a basic need for families and individuals in our community. Some families often face the dilemma of paying the rent or feeding the kids. The Friends of St. Albert Housing Society is dedicated to fund-raising to support the development and sustainability of afforadable housing for those with modest incomes in St. Albert. The Society is currently asking for your financial support for the construction and ongoing sustainability of our Family Support Program within the planned Big Lake Pointe Affordable Family Housing development. This program will provide affordable rental accomodation and wrap around support for single parent families with modest incomes.
